Has your business been affected by crime?

Representatives of the MASCOT committee will be meeting with Inspector Terry Ball on the 5th of October to discuss concerns raised by MASCOT members with regard to crimes affecting our businesses and the police response.

In order to be effective we need as much information from local businesses as possible so we would invite anyone affected to please email chairman@mascot.org.uk with information including answers to the following questions. Please send this information to anyone you know who may have information for us.

Free training for Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea Retailers

Mablethorpe Area Partnership hosts Free Workshop to help all Retailers in Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea

A free workshop to help retailers boost their business will be hosted by the Mablethorpe Area Partnership on Tuesday, September 27, at 5:30pm at the Brackenborough Arms Hotel.

This is a free function designed to assist independent retailers to maximise their sales, gain the crucial competitive edge, secure their existing business and encourage new business.

These are tough times and sales are hard to win and therefore the Area Partnership has taken the initiative to join forces with Business Link to present techniques and concepts to retailers which may help them face the challenges of the current difficult market climate.

The event, which includes a buffet supper, will cover three main topics:

  • Three steps to increase turnover.
  • How to get your staff make the till ring.
  • How to get your shop to sell its product itself.

These topics will embrace methods and advice on everything from attracting, converting and retaining customers and improving customer service and sales ability to maximising displays, organising promotions and much more.

There will be practical examples and information delivered in easy-to-understand packages that can be taken away and implemented the very next day of business.

Shell Springboard Awards 2011 Launch
This  awards programme provides a financial boost to innovative, low carbon business initiatives from across the UK.  The objective is to encourage businesses to see climate change responsibilities as more than compliance and cost.  Up to eight awards of between £20k and £40k are available through the programme in each of the three UK regions, with the best two regional entries being forwarded for the overall UK award.  The deadline for applications is Friday, 4th November 2011 at pm.  For more information, visit http://www.shellspringboard.org/home/

Overseas Business Risk
This new service has been launched to help UK companies learn about the security and business risks in 90 markets when working abroad.  Overseas Business Risk is run jointly by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) and is accessible through the UKTI website. Thematic market profiles are available for 90 markets all over the world and will cover aspects like the risk of cyber crime, corruption, bribery and theft of intellectual property.
